- Public finance is the main tool for all levels of territorial self-government in the area of development policy and socio-economic tasks – the marshal of the Małopolska region Marek Nawara opened the conference “Territorial self-government as a subject of public finance system” organized by the Małopolska Development Policy Observatory. Wojciech Misiąg and Marcin Tomalak’s study evaluating Małopolska as a subject of public transfers and providing financial forecast for the region for 2010-2015 was the starting point of discussion.

During the fifth meeting of the Małopolska Regional Development Observatories and Evaluation Council, the managers of the Observatories presented results of the research carried out in 2009. The Council members discussed also the Observatories’ research plans for 2010.
